About Us

Hello everyone! Our names are Morgan Davis and Sydney Hawkins, and we are the owners of The Sassy Ladybug boutique. We first met through a mutual friend that was trying to get both of us to have more friends at college, but we did not really want any more friends at that time. A few months later, Sydney started visiting the church I was serving at. One Wednesday night, I was talking to another lady and said that I really wanted to get ice cream before church started but she had to get ready for class so Sydney said she would go with me. We both went to Sonic and once we finally got ice cream, Sydney finished hers before we were even to the church, and we laughed all the way back to the church and that is where our friendship started. We have been best friends ever since and have gone through highs and lows with each other.

             When we decided to open this boutique, the first issue was coming up with a name. We knew we didn’t want to have our names and we wanted something meaningful. Sydney then brought up having Ladybug in the name. This instantly made me very happy, and I then suggested The Sassy Ladybug. That is how this boutique started.

             The significance of the ladybug in the name is a long story but I will give you the short version. My youngest sister, Madison, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma cancer when she was 4 ½ years old. She battled with this cancer 3 different times within 2 ½ years. She passed away a few weeks after she turned 7 years old. My family was devastated but also knew that she was with God now and cancer free. Most people say that she lost the battle to cancer, but my family says that she won the ultimate prize which is spending eternity with God. Madison loved so many things but one of her favorite things were ladybugs! She would get so excited when she saw one and would say that ladybugs were her favorite insect. Now whenever anyone in my family sees a ladybug, we say that is how Madison is saying hi to us now. We named this boutique in memory of her!
